Hoten Holler!

Since our laundry room and long-term food storage will be in the basement we are looking at installing a dumbwaiter in the pantry/mudroom on the main floor.  This will ease the transport of laundry and other items without having to use stairs.

The manual style dumbwaiters are less than half the cost of the electric models.

One of our layout challenges is where to put a mudroom.  In the floor plan we are currently using, it would be in combination with the laundry room.  We are now thinking if we move the laundry room to the basement and use a dumb-waiter or a laundry chute we could free up more space for a bigger pantry and mudroom.
